Activity bookings are on a first-come first-served basis via Sandwell Sailing Club and candidates will only be accepted on receipt of payment (where applicable) and a correctly completed booking form. Email reservations are not permissible.
Bookings will close 14 days before the start date, after which time candidates may not be accepted.
Where a single payment covers the course booking, some of which are unavailable to book due to them being full, every effort will be made to ensure places on other courses are not lost. We encourage separate payments to be made for separate bookings where possible to minimise this issue.
Candidates must meet all pre-requisites at the time of booking and these must be available to the principal either before the course or on the day. Where course candidates do not meet all the pre-requisites, the candidate must send an email into the principal with detailing how the candidate will complete these prior to the start of the course.
We encourage you to let us know as soon as possible if a participant is no longer able to attend an activity on which they are booked.
If you let us know less than 14 days prior to the start of the course, we will make every effort to fill the place from the reserve list or otherwise. Where we are able to do so, we will refund any fees. If we are unable to fill the place, the fees will be lost.
If cancellations occur less than 7 days prior to the start of the activity, or in the case of non-attendance, all course fees paid will be forfeit.
Under 18s must arrive with a parent or guardian. If they do not have a parent or guardian on the day or days of the activity, they may be unable to participate in the course.
If the participant is a member of the Sea Cadets, this will be covered by unit instructors and all cadets must have a T1 Cards with their relevant unit support instructor, and must be available at all times.
Under 18s and adults are expected to adhere to the codes of conduct. Anyone not doing so may be asked to leave the course or the facility. In this case, no refunds will be given.
Adults must complete a self-declaration form and next of kin details, for the relevant candidates that are attending the course.
Participants are encouraged to provide feedback about the instruction, the facility and equipment by means of “How did we do?” Forms.
Where any feedback highlights any unsatisfactory outcomes, the centre will proactively investigate this and may contact the course participants to gain further information.
Complaints must be directed in the first instance to the instructor delivering the course. If they are unable to resolve the issue, the Principal / Senior Instructor must be contacted.
They will aim to resolve all complaints within 7 days and will ensure that any outcomes are made known to the complainant.
